Alleluia Promo
Each summer, church musicians from across the country gather on the campus of Baylor University for one week of fellowship, learning and worship at the annual Alleluia Conference. This exciting event has grown to include the partnership of several major entities. These organizations combine their efforts to present leadership and training sessions in virtually every area of music ministry including: piano, organ, children’s choirs, handbells, music technology, youth choirs, conducting, worship, praise teams & much more! Outside of class sessions, experience inspirational worship, evening concerts, excellent exhibits, reading sessions & round table lunch discussions with notable anthem composers.
Over the years, Alleluia has become known as a place to be challenged to think new thoughts, learn practical skills and strategies, find new materials, and develop long-term relationships with others who share your calling and your passion for ministry.
Explore the wide range of session topics throughout the week or focus in on a specific area like Children’s Choirs or Handbells. Come and take advantage of all that the conference has to offer by engaging in meaningful worship, exploring new ways to teach or lead, and fellowshipping with others.
Highlights from Alleluia include the following:
Leadership Training
Baylor University, Texas Baptists, Celebrating Grace Hymnal, and YouthCUE provide outstanding clinicians to lead daily training sessions in organ, piano, church music ministry, conducting, children's choir, handbells, worship, and others.
Reading Sessions
Jubilate! offers nine hours of choral music reading sessions during the course of the conference. Alleluia is the only conference of its kind to have a full orchestra play on a reading session. The reading sessions will be led by experienced composers and will include music specifically chosen for this event. Many music ministers are able to get all the anthems their church will need for their entire year from attending the Reading Sessions.
Worship
The numerous worship services enrich the conference by offering opportunities for ministers to sit back and worship without worrying about the details.
Fellowship
Renewing friendships and meeting new people are strengths of Alleluia! Whether sharing a meal, a Dr Pepper float, or browsing the exhibits, you will be inspired from four days with other church musicians.
Lunch with Composers
Conferees will have opportunities to engage with clinicians and each other at meal time discussions. Limited to 20 people each, the discussions will offer close-up interactive opportunities. Sign up when you register online.
Facilities
The Alleluia Conference will take place in the Glennis McCrary Music Building and George W. Truett Theological Seminary on the Baylor University Campus.
Evening Concerts
Alleluia also features nightly concerts which are free and open to the public. This year's Thursday evening event will be a Community Hymn Sing.
Award for Exemplary Leadership in Church Music
This recognition was instituted in 2005 and is given to a graduate of Baylor University who has contributed uniquely and significantly to some aspect of the broad scope of church music ministry. This year's Thursday lunch banquet will honor a distinguished Baylor alum with the "Exemplary Service" award. To read more about past recipients visit the ELCM page.
Exhibits
Exhibitors will display current materials and supplies for church music ministry. Materials ranging from children's choir to the latest anthems will be available for purchase. Sweetwater will be the official music supplier for this event. For more information about exhibiting at the Alleluia conference visit out Exhibitor & Advertisement page.
